Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua alias Jaguar has joined Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Movement (UDA).

Njagua was received by the DP at his official residence in Karen.

The legislator has been leaning towards President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga's camp.

"Welcome to UDA - Kazi ni Kazi, Starehe MP, Charles Njagua Kanyi (Jaguar). Hustler Nation welcomes you, Sir," UDA posted on Twitter.

He will now face off with EALA MP Simon Mbugua in the UDA party nominations.

Njagua, a musician by profession, joined politics in 2017 when he trounced veteran politician Maina Kamanda to win Jubilee Party nomination for the Starehe MP seat.

The outcome of the nomination vote held on April 21, 2017, was bitterly disputed by Kamanda but President Uhuru prevailed upon him to the musician.

In return, Kamanda was promised a nomination slot as a member of the National Assembly, which he was given.

He is currently a staunch supporter of Raila and Azimio la Umoja Movement.
