The trouble Premier League table toppers Tusker were subjected to by KCB last week has left them a vengeful lot ahead of their midweek match against Wazito FC at Utalii grounds this afternoon.

KCB inflicted damage on Tusker’s title hopes by restricting them to a barren draw at Tusker’s Ruaraka grounds and nothing short of a win over money-bags Wazito will appease the ale men’s disenchanted fans.

Tusker’s key players in defender Robert Aloro and international midfielder Boniface Muchiri have already made their intentions known of their desire to help the 11-times top tier league champions make amends in the potentially tantalising match.

“We had a bad day in office against KCB but this is not reason to say that we have put our feet off the gas pedal in as far as challenging for the title is concerned.

Obviously, as title contenders, we know what we want and we have to demonstrate commitment against Wazito from the word go,” said Uganda international Aloro.

The former Sofapaka man said it was just a stroke of ill luck that he did not score against the bankers from two free kicks in the match which saw Tusker fire in all cylinders.

“We did give a good account of ourselves but lost and we urge our fans to continue supporting us and the rest shall fall in place,” said Aloro who forced KCB goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka to two top-drawer saves, one through a free kick, during the match.

In the meantime, asked what he expects from today’s match, fast-rising midfielder Muchiri said Tusker can win for a good measure.

“We have no excuses to lose the match although the worst we can do is to underrate Wazito. We have to take a sober approach and especially when approaching our opponents goalmouth,’’ said Muchiri.

Having said that, it would be reckless of Tusker to treat Wazito with kid- gloves as the latter badly needs redemption following a 2-0 loss to Sofapaka in their latest fixture at Dawson Mwanyumba Stadium in Wundanyi last weekend.
