Corruption and the recovery of the country’s economy continue to dominate the campaign agenda for presidential aspirants ahead of the high-stake August polls.

For the last two days, Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah took the 'Ganja' campaigns to Narok and reiterated that if elected in the August polls, his administration will re-introduce the death penalty ostensibly to curb the runaway corruption in the country.

Wajackoyah storms Narok night club

Wajackoyah addressed revelers at the Elevate nightclub on Sartuday Night.

On Sunday morning, he addressed residents at the infamous Rungu ya Moi grounds. The controversial presidential candidate stressed that corrupt individuals will be hanged as punishment for their crimes to serve as a lesson to others who plunder the country’s resources.

"In countries like China, they hung corrupt people. In Singapore they kill you. In Japan, corrupt people kill themselves. In the United States, Canada and many developed countries they are sent to jail. It's only in Kenya where corrupt people are elected to presidency, parliament and to the senate," Wajackoyah stated.

He waded into the presidential debate saying he will not attend the debate scheduled for July 26, if he will not be given a chance to stand on the same podium with presidential candidates; Raila Odinga of Azimio - One Kenya coalition and Kenya kwanza's William Ruto.

"If they will not place me with the two I will not attend. Why I want them to face me is because I want them to tell me the source of their wealth," he added.

Wajackoyah is among three presidential candidates who were cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest in the polls. The fourth candidate is David Mwaure of the Agano party.

In his tour, Wajackoyah rubbished his opponents’ agenda for the country and asked residents to be intentional about whom they want to lead them.

Besides his promise to legalize bhang for medicinal purposes, he plans to upscale snake farming in a bid to create a sufficient venom supply for export.

Plans to send Chinese investors in Kenya back home also dominated his address.

"The Chinese occupation in Kenya is a curse and when I become president I will send them back home and uproot that piece of metal (railway) from Mombasa-Suswa and throw it away," he added.

Wajackoyah claimed the government has auctioned the port of Lamu to the Chinese because of the high debt owed to China.

He insisted that only bhang and snake farming can revive the country's ailing economy and clear the ballooning public debt.
