Gor Mahia were unable to return to winning ways after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ulinzi Stars in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match played at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Dropping two more points comes after K'Ogalo were defeated for the first time this season when Police managed a 3-1 victory in the previous game.

Meanwhile, the reigning Premier League champions looked blunt up front as coach Johnathan McKinstry decided to bench Benson Omala. The current league's top scorer was destined to move to Algeria, but the deal did not materialise in the 11th hour.

Omala was thrown into action in the second half, in place of Patrick Sibomana, but Ulinzi Stars managed to remain solid at the back.

K'Ogalo were denied by the woodwork two minutes to the hour mark when Austin Odhiambo hit the woodwork.

Despite the Machakos stalemate, Gor Mahia still enjoy a healthy gap at the top with 44 points but will have to get back to winning ways if they have to keep the pressure at bay.

Bandari outclassed

At Mbaraki Stadium, Nairobi City Stars managed a 1-0 victory over Bandari. Vincent Owino scored the only goal of the game when he found the back of the net after he was set through by Ronson Asenwa.

After returning to winning ways courtesy of the slim win away from home, Simba wa Nairobi now have 37 points and are second on the table.
