Youth urged to apply for Kazi Mtaani
Kiambu County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga has urged the youth
to apply for recruitment in the third phase of the Kazi Mtaani Programme.
Wanyanga, who was speaking during the launch of the programme at his office, said the youth will have an opportunity to apply for the jobs online this time round, unlike in the past.
“This time, you can apply on your own online, this gives everyone a fair chance of getting the Kazi Mtaani jobs,” Wanyanga said, vouching for the
online application model.
The County Commissioner also revealed that unlike the first two phases that focused on sanitation projects in urban areas, the current phase will involve other projects.
He explained that the programme is seeking to hire both skilled and unskilled workers.
“In the other phases, we were focusing on cleaning the streets in urban
centres but this time we are also building Competency Based Curriculum
classrooms and we will also be offering support in the fight against malaria,” he noted.
Wanyanga urged the youth to apply for the jobs, assuring them that in
the online application process, both male and female genders will be considered fairly, including those people living with disabilities.
Kiambu Deputy County Commissioner, Titus Maina also supported the
shift to online application, arguing that it is very convenient
“In the past, you had to wait for an advertisement in the dailies to know that there is a job, but now, all you have to do is log into the website and check and know early enough if the opportunities that are available,” he said.
