Evangelist Reuben Kigame has been barred from vying for Presidency in the August 9 polls.

According to him, this is despite presenting all the necessary documents and signatures to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

While addressing journalists on Monday, May 30, 2022, Kigame said that he was informed by the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati that he did not meet all the qualifications to run for Presidency.

His efforts to seek audience with IEBC on Monday however did not bear fruits, forcing the gospel singer to shelve his dreams.

"When I wanted to seek audience with the Chair and have a redress of this matter, security barred me from entering the Bomas of Kenya saying no aspirant was being allowed," he said.

This comes moments after Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria was barred from accessing Bomas of Kenya after his name was left out of the Presidential aspirants waiting for clearance.
