Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi on Monday ditched Amani National Congress and joined Deputy President William Ruto's camp.

DP Ruto welcomed Havi to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at his official residence in Karen, moments after completing an Inter-governmental Budget and Economic Council meeting.

In a video shared online, the DP is heard telling Mathira MP Rigathi Gachugua to welcome Havi into the party as he prepares to vie for the Westlands' parliamentary seat in the next year's general election.

"Gachagua why can't you have a handshake with Havi as we welcome him into the hustler nation," Ruto is heard telling the MP.

Havi's move has, however, come as a surprise as a few months ago he declared his interest to vie for Westland's MP seat under Mudavadi led the party, ANC.

The LSK president even accompanied a section of leaders from ANC to Kangemi to mobilize resistents to come out and register as voters.
