Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau has officially joined the Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

She was unveiled at Ruto's official residence in Karen after a short meeting with the DP. It is, however, not clear whether Mwau was accompanied by other leaders from her county.

"The Hustler Nation is growing bigger and bigger. This morning we welcome Adelina Mwau, the Deputy Governor of Makueni County, to UDA. Karibu Mama," the DP said in a tweet.

The Makueni DG will be vying for the county's Woman representative seat.

Her move to join the Hustler Movement comes a week after DP Ruto urged leaders from the Ukambani region to join his wing ahead of the August election.

“Kalonzo is now a tired man. He is fed up with that man and I ask him we join hands to form the next government," Ruto said in a rally in Makueni.

Mwau's move to join Ruto is, however, contrary to the political stand of her boss and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana who recently joined Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja movement.

Kibwana revealed that he opted to suspend his presidential ambitions after consulting the people of Makueni.

"I consulted my people in my county leadership and they gave me the go-ahead to support Azimio la Umoja and they told me that I have age on my side and will resume my presidential ambitions in future," he said.
