Infotrak: Wiper to sweep top Machakos seats even as opponents surrender

Wiper Party's gubernatorial candidate in Machakos Wavinya Ndeti is poised to win the Machakos top seat with a 46 percent margin according to the lates polls by Infotrak.

Wavinya is followed by former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita at 25 percent while UDA chairman Johnson Muthama is third at nine percent.

Outgoing Deputy Governor Francis Maliti, who has already quit the race in favour of Wavinya, has a paltry two percent support. Four percent of respondents refused to answer, while 14 percent are still undecided.

Senatorial race in Machakos

Despite the Wiper candidate in the Machakos senatorial race Agnes Kavindu leading with 24 percent, the race remains largely open, since 44 percent of the voters are undecided.

UDA's Urbanus Ngengele has 10 percent support followed by Benard Mungata at seven percent and Joel Mbaluka at four percent.

Former Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo has four percent support while former Water Minister Mutua Katuku has three percent, two points ahead of Angela Mwikali.

Four percent refused to answer on their preferred senatorial candidate.

Woman rep contest

The incumbent woman representative Joyce Kamene (Wiper) is leading the race with 40 percent followed by Ritah Ndunda at nine percent.

Eunice Mutua has three percent support followed by Benedetta Muli, Elizabeth Kisyang'a and Victoria Musyoki with one percent each. Josephine Munyao has 0.6 percent while Selinah Kioko has 0.4 percent.

Four percent refused to answer while 40 percent are still undecided on the woman representative of choice.

Wiper is the most popular party in Machakos with 35 percent support followed by ODM at 19 percent. Deputy President William Ruto's UDA has 17 percent support in Machakos.
