Three youth groups on sexual rights win awards

An international Germany lobby group dealing with reproductive health issues, Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) Kenya has awarded three youth groups who had showcased innovative solutions to various challenges on sexual rights and reproductive health (SRHR) facing teenagers.

The youth-led projects emerged winners in a competition that saw 50 submissions from groups across the country.

Madvocate CBO from Kilifi emerged the winner in the sexual and reproductive health category for their idea on using art to champion for SRHR rights and information while Niko Informed from Kisumu took home the gender based violence (GBV) award for its innovative plan of translating GBV content to a local language to create awareness among youths who cannot read or understand the national language. Diversity Africana from West Pokot was the runner-up
